Connecting to Harvard University

The Harvard University wireless network provides connectivity for devices that lack 802.1x WPA/WPA2 functionality. To authenticate, simply choose the Harvard University wireless network and open a web browser (Javascript must be enabled). You will be redirected to an authentication page similar to the following:

Users may enter one of following three credentials to authenticate:

Harvard ID and PIN
Managed XID and PIN
Sponsored guest ID and password

Click the Log in button and you will be authenticated and can now access the network. Please be aware that all communication is unencrypted unless secured by an application (eg. SSL-encrypted websites) or a VPN client. Users of the UIS VPN service may avoid browser-based authentication by launching the VPN client and logging in.
